My love and keen sense of color led me in 2010 on a personal journey of research and exploration to begin designing my own collection of hand-knotted rugs.

This creative outlet has given me the opportunity and platform to combine my background and experience in interior design with my love of art and pottery manifesting my colorful and whimsical designs on a 3d object of the highest quality materials and skills that at once satisfies and excites the senses of sight, touch and smell.

My inspiration comes from my own colorful background – I was born in London to Greek and Russian parents – and I have lived both in England and Greece. Nature, art, folklore and archaeology are an endless source of inspiration to me as well as my extensive travels all over the world taking in various cultures, sights and local color and design.

All contribute to my appreciation for good design and quality which I like to bring to my work. Life is a never ending process of learning and absorbing experiences like a sponge, which I like to squeeze out onto my creations.

I create unique, top quality, hand knotted and custom designed rugs. All rugs are hand knotted by skilled artisans in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains overlooking Kathmandu in Nepal using only the finest materials and traditional weaving methods. The nature of the hand knotted rug means that each rug is one-of-kind and is never the same as the one that came before it. Each rug is a work of art requiring time, love and great skill – elements that are reflected and felt when you see the end result.

Each rug requires a minimum of 3-4 months to be created from the moment an order is placed depending on size and intricacy of the design.

Colors may vary from monitor and catalogue images as well as, but to a lesser extent, samples , due to the very nature and beauty of the handmade process of manufacture.

I like to compare it to childbirth saying that although you may know the gender of your baby, you don’t really know what your baby will look like before it is born! Each design as it begins, starts with an image in my mind, which gradually takes over and becomes an individual entity taking on a life of its own guiding me through to its own manifestation…
