I think most creatives will appreciate it when I say that one of the highest highs of my work is when, after months of eager anticipation, my creations arrive, all wrapped up and I carefully peel away the packaging and wrapping that they have travelled in to reveal themselves to me!  The excitement and joy is amazing and fills me with renewed energy and enthusiasm to continue with what I'm doing. My "Evloghia" rug design (meaning 'blessing' in Greek) is based on the evil eye, known as mati (μάτι). Well, I finally decided to explore the hand tufted method of manufacture as an option for certain designs and I just received this photo of a sample I order from my manufacturer in India following the design and instructions I sent him...100% New Zealand wool has been used in 10mm and 12mm pile so that the tangerine motif is slightly raised from the background... I hope this will be an attractive option for clients...

Handmade rugs are woven or knotted by hand. Every single knot is done by hand whereas a machine-made rug is made entirely by a machine also called a power loom.     Hand-tufted rugs are also referred to as handmade rugs although they are made using a drill gun that inserts the pile into a cloth backing creating a loop pile.
